It may not sound exciting in writing, but once you see the photos themselves, you’ll find yourself wanting Season 2 of The Witcher to come out as soon as possible. You know, to find out where Geralt got that armor, it’s fantastic.

Henry Cavill Looks Ready to Crush Monsters in The Witcher Season 2

The first season of The Witcher hit Netflix on December 20, 2019. It may not feel that way given the events of 2020, but yes, it’s only been a year. To give you hope for 2021 (maybe, we don’t know when Season 2 will air just yet), the first images from Season 2 of The Witcher have been released.

The images only show Geralt thus far but don’t worry, we’ll be seeing more of characters like Yennefer and Ciri soon enough. With promotions for Season 2 of The Witcher beginning to emerge, we have hope that we may see a teaser trailer by the end of the year.

Adding to the likelihood of this, the official Twitter account for The Witcher tweeted that production of Season 2 had resumed on August 17, five months after the March shutdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If all continues to go well, it sounds like Season 2 of The Witcher could air sometime in 2021. Maybe, hopefully. We’re keeping our fingers crossed. At least we have something to look at while we wait as Netflix was kind enough to give us two images of Geralt from Season 2 of The Witcher.

In the images, Geralt is sporting a brand new set of armor. It’s an interesting set of armor to look at, that’s for sure.

On Instagram, Henry Cavill shared the images as well with the caption:

“‘It may turn out,’ said the white-haired man a moment later, ‘that their comrades or cronies may ask what befell these evil men. Tell them the Wolf bit them. The White Wolf. And add that they should keep glancing over their shoulders. One day they’ll look back and see the Wolf.'”

The quote is from Czas Pogardy, or Time of Contempt, the second book in The Witcher book series from author Andrzej Sapkowski. It makes sense this quote would be shared given that Netflix’s The Witcher follows the book series rather than the video game adaptation from CD Projekt Red.

The full quote opens with Geralt approaching a bar at an inn, a body lying on the floor. Speaking of the book series, if you’re looking for something to keep you occupied while you wait for Season 2 of The Witcher on Netflix, we highly recommend reading Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski. It’ll help offer insight into the show, and The Witcher series in general.

Stay tuned as we’ll be sharing news about Season 2 of The Witcher on Netflix as information is made available. A release date for Season 2 has yet to be announced, and we don’t have a trailer for Season 2 either. As a refresher, we’ve included the trailer for Season 1 of The Witcher down below.
