Halo Infinite Season 2 Launching in May

Today, an announcement from 343 Industries and Microsoft revealed a release date for Halo Infinite’s second season, Lone Wolves. This season comes with a new battle pass of course, but also includes new maps and game modes. Lone Wolves is set to launch on May 3, 2022.

The maps are a new arena called Catalyst, and a new Big Team Battle map called Breaker. Based on some previously shown concept art and the footage in the trailer, Catalyst looked like some kind of metallic bunker, while Breaker is a sort of volcanic area with a massive bridge and lava pits.

The three modes include the returns of Last Spartan Standing and King of the Hill, which are exactly what they sound like. The third mode is totally new, and called Land Grab.

In addition to the new goodies, features and events, Lone Wolves will incorporate tons of responses to player feedback, which touch nearly every aspect of Halo Infinite. You can read all the details on this post from 343, which dives into feedback, responses, plans and so on, so forth. One notable change is that season two’s Battle Pass will include enough premium credits to get the next one, something generally standard for this sort of system that was notably absent from Infinite’s first season.

Finally, due to 343 citing a “Priority Zero” policy of work/life balance and the volume of work done for this update, campaign co-op for Halo Infinite will be later than planned, coming sometime during the season instead of launch day. Other updates are planned during the season as well, as 343 notes “Hotlist” items won’t just be addressed with season premieres.
