Halo Infinite is quite possibly the most highly anticipated entry the series has ever seen as well as the most important. The recent delay was unfortunate news for fans, but Amazon’s website is now saying that the delay is going to be a full year.
Amazon’s website recently updated the page for Xbox Series X, and towards the bottom, it shows Halo Infinite. Unfortunately, this is also where it stated that the game will be launching Holiday 2021, making it a full year delay. As of the time of this writing, the listing is still showing “Coming Holiday 2021,” but Wario64 on Twitter was kind enough to capture a screenshot in case it changes.
Likely a typo, but Amazon says Halo Infinite out holiday 2021 https://t.co/raPKqPzyPz pic.twitter.com/GxBVJa20P0

As Wario points out, there is a good chance that this is a typo on Amazon’s part. Microsoft and 343 Industries have yet to provide information about how long the delay for Halo Infinite will be, so the fact that Amazon is the one releasing that information could be a bit suspicious.
When Halo Infinite was delayed, it was attributed to challenges that popped up as a result of the ongoing pandemic as well as other factors. The game was moved to a 2021 release, but no additional information was given as to when fans can expect the title. “I want to acknowledge the hard work from our team at 343 Industries, who have remained committed to making a great game and finding solutions to development challenges,” the devs said. “However, it is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or the overall success of the game to ship it this holiday.”

It’s unknown at this time if the Amazon page is correct, or if we should expect Halo Infinite to launch at a different time. In any case, it would be wise to wait for any sort of official announcement from Microsoft or 343. As it stands, Halo Infinite is currently in development and expected to launch at some point in 2021 for PC and Xbox Series X.
