Today marks the end of the Early Access period for Hades. Below you can watch the official announcement trailer from a few weeks ago where it was first announced Hades would be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Nobody knew we would get a surprise drop, but here we are. Hades tasks you, the son of Hades, to try and escape the underworld prison in hopes of finding your birth mother. This roguelike features different weapons, powers, and artifacts to aid your escape.

The 1.0 launch includes a myriad of new improvements to the game, so if you’ve played it before, it’s worth hopping back into. It also brings the true ending to the game. When you beat a run, you will return to the Underworld without a proper conclusion.

Now with the official launch, things are about to change.

Playing around with the different combinations and builds is the key to success. There are also plenty of other Gods and patrons of the Underworld to interact with between attempts.

There is no telling what else awaits as you try to ascend into the mortal realm. Be sure to sway the god’s favor and make as many allies as you can along the way. If you’re a fan of Bastion or Transistor, you’ll undoubtedly want to give Hades some attention.

The Supergiant Games art style is clear and present in the game and trailer. We can’t wait to see what else Hades has in store.

If you’re looking for some more information on what to expect from Hades, you can read part of the Steam description below.

“As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.”
