Hades 2 Leads Steam Deck’s Most Played Games in May 2024

Death to Chronos, on the go!

Hades 2 and the Steam Deck are a match made in heaven, or Hell I’d say. Knowing how popular the original Hades was on the Steam Deck, Supergiant Games ensured that the early access release of Hades 2 came with full Deck support from day one, and that paid off. Hades 2 was the most-played game on the Steam Deck in May 2024 according to Valve.

Hades 2 Tops May 2024’s Steam Deck List

Each month, Valve shares a list of the top 20 most played games on the Steam Deck, and we’ve grown to see a few notable titles like Vampires Survivors, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, and while all of these were still present, Hades 2 shot its way to the top in less than a month of its release.

This shouldn’t come off as a major surprise though. Hades 2 doubled the number of concurrent players of the original Hades on its launch, with a peak of 103K players. Even in its current state Hades 2 has more content than the final release of the Hades, and there’s a lot more build variety, and major updates will add more content.

All of this makes Hades 2 the perfect Steam Deck game. Despite being a visual upgrade over the original, it’s still light on the requirements. It has full controller support, the UI has been scaled properly for the Deck’s resolution, as well as Steam Cloud support.

Apart from Hades 2, three Fallout games have also made it to the list as well, which can be attributed to the success of the Fallout TV Show. Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 are still in the top 20, despite being fairly demanding titles.

Hades 2 is a massive game, and there are tons of items to gather, weapons to unlock, and bosses to beat. For more on the god-like roguelike, make sure to check out our dedicated section.
