For example, players will be able to use Shield and Vitality to potentially fend off damage, and afflict enemies with special Poison and Bleeding modifiers. Other mechanics teased in the official press release mention using Deathblow and Berserk to help “turn the tide of battle.”

“Dettlaff van der Eretein, the mighty higher vampire gamers first met in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine, is summoning his kin. As the Moon over the Witcher world turns red, new breeds of monsters awake, new villains emerge, and new heroes rise to answer the call,” reads the press release description.

CD Projekt Red goes on to confirm that every card in the Crimson Curse expansion will come in both a standard and premium animated variant. Players itching to dive into the first GWENT expansion will be happy to learn the release date is only a few short weeks away.

The Crimson Curse expansion will go live in GWENT for free on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on March 28, 2019.
