Gundam Evolution, Bandai Namco’s free to play, first-person shooter set in the world(s) of Mobile Suit Gundam, is about to launch its first big Network Test for North American audiences. The test will be starting later tonight, April 7 2022 at 7:00PM PT/10:00PM ET.
To register for a slot, all you have to do is log into Steam and visit Gundam Evolution’s store page. Click the button to register and that’s all you have to do! That said, there is limited space, and according to the game’s website a lottery will be instituted if applicant numbers exceed a certain amount.

The number of mobile suits testers will have access to isn’t clearly indicated (full list here), but the test does include suits that haven’t been shown yet, the Gundam Exia and Marasai. Gundam Exia is the “hero” suit from Mobile Suit Gundam 00, which aired starting back in 2007 and has remained one of the more popular “AU” series. The Marasai is a classic “UC” suit used by the AEUG and built by Anaheim Electronics. This means they first appeared in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, but have also appeared in multiple other shows.
Players who get into the network test will also be able to check out the Gundam Evolution Season Pass, which includes various customization items and other goodies. Progress here won’t carry over, but those who make it all the way to level 20 will be rewarded with a “stamp” and a limited skin (shown here on the RX-78 and its regular rifle).
While this first test is PC only, there are plans for testing periods for both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. No details for those are available just yet.
