The Assassin’s Creed series has had its ups and downs over the years, and while Ubisoft recently released the newest title in the series, Assassin’s Creed Origins, many players are busy flocking back to the fourth game in the series, Black Flag.
Set at the dawn of the 18th century, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag puts players into the shoes of Edward Kenway, a pirate assassin who must take command of his own ship and help legendary pirates like Blackbeard, Calico Jack, and Benjamin Hornigold as they establish their own lawless republic in the Bahamas. It’s a stunning game that offered something no Assassin’s Creed game had offered before, and it is still heralded as one of the best in the series by many long-time fans of the series.
Now, as Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed fans around the world celebrate the series’ tenth anniversary, players can once more dive into this sea-sailing adventure, at absolutely no cost. All they’ll need to do is download the Uplay application on their computer, and then grab their free copy.
If you’ve never played Black Flag, or any of the Assassin’s Creed games over the past ten years, then now is a good time to start. Black Flag is heralded as one of the best games in the series, and the naval combat introduced in the game was so loved that Ubisoft continued to use it in several of the series’ other titles, and have even spun it off into its own game (Skull and Bones) which is set to release next year in 2018. Make sure you grab your free copy of the game quickly, though, as it is only going to be available now through December 18.
