The Game Awards 2019 Will Reveal At Least 10 New Projects, Confirms Geoff Keighley

The Game Awards 2019 showcase will have a lot of "meaty" reveals to share!

With just one more week to go, Geoff Keighley has confirmed that the Game Awards 2019 show will reveal at least 10 new projects. The Doritos Pope took to Reddit in a recent AMA to talk with fans about what they can expect without giving too much away, and from what he had to say – this year is going to be filled with new surprises.

“We have a bunch of brand new games being announced at the show – I think there are around 10 new games/projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet,” he replied when one person asked how many reveals could be expected this year. (via AllGamers) “As always, the Internet has a lot of really bad information out there about what you think is at the show… but it sure is fun to read.”

He also added that fans hoping for an official Resident Evil 3 remake reveal shouldn’t get their hopes up despite mounting evidence suggesting otherwise. That being said, there have been a ton of leaks lately, including a Horizon Zero Dawn PC leak, so who knows what this year’s Game Awards will bring!

In other Game Awards news, the team also confirmed earlier this month that they were hosting this year’s show in select theaters alongside Jumanji. “We know video games are a big passion point for a huge segment of our audience, so this unique superticket brings fans the ultimate night out at the theatre,” said Justin McDaniel, SVP, Global Content, Cinemark. “Cinemark is proud to be the only place to see both the opening night showing of ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ and The Game Awards live on the big screen.”

“Given that the premise of our last two Jumanji films is about getting transported into a video game, we couldn’t think of a better pairing than this,” said Ann-Elizabeth Crotty, EVP, Global Client Services and Exhibitor Partnerships, Sony Pictures Entertainment. “As soon as it became clear that our release date perfectly aligned with The Game Awards, we knew we had to do something special for fans.”
