When Chapter 2 Season 4 arrives for Fortnite next week, it won’t be for everyone. Mobile players will be left behind due to the ongoing lawsuits, but Epic Games is bringing everyone together one last time in a new tournament that is seemingly themed after the lawsuit with Apple.
The #FreeFortnite Cup will be taking place on August 23rd across all platforms that are able to run Fortnite. There will be a host of prizes up for grabs during the event, including the new Tart Tycoon Outfit, which may be a little more than obvious, but it is a nice skin. In addition to this, those who participate will have the chance to win a #FreeFortnite hat, PC’s, gaming consoles, and more.
All of your friends. Fabulous prizes. And one bad apple. We’re droppin the #FreeFortnite Cup on August 23.

Over the course of 4 hours, eligible players will be able to play up to 12 matches, during which they will score points based on the following criteria: 1 point for every 3 minutes on the BR island, 1 point per elimination, and 10 points per Victory Royale. Participants who earn 10 or more points will receive the Tart Tycoon skin, while top scoring players across regions (20,000 globally) will receive an IRL hat that says “Free Fortnite.” across the front of it with a llama in the style of an early Apple logo.
These will not be the only prizes that players will be able to win during the Free Fortnite cup. Epic Games also has 1,200 pieces of gaming hardware that will go to the top 1,200 “apple-eaters” around the globe. These include:
- Alienware Gaming Laptop
- Razer Gaming Laptop
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S7
- OnePlus 8 – 90FPS on a phone
- PlayStation 4 Pro
- Xbox One X
- Nintendo Switch
If you are a mobile player worried about not being able to continue playing Fortnite, perform well enough during the Free Fortnite Cup and you just might score yourself a new console or laptop. Full rules regarding the competition can be found right here.
