With all the talk surrounding Dead Space 3 this week – as well as the future of the franchise – a lot of people seem to forget that we have a pretty damn good game on our hands here, even if its focus is more action-based than survival horror.
The first piece of downloadable content for the game, Awakened, will bring back some of the survival horror aspects you’ve been seeking, with plenty of dark ambience and enemies that pop out of nowhere. Crazy Necromorph stuff, people.
And the good news is we won’t have to wait that long for it. The DLC is slated to arrive this Tuesday, March 12th, on both Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. It’s also coming to Origin PC as well, if you have the game on that service.
As for pricing, it’ll set you back $9.99, or 800 Microsoft points, which isn’t too shabby for a piece of side content.
We’ll have a full recap of what Awakening has to offer coming up later. In the meantime, watch the trailer here and prepare to get spooked.
Dead Space is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
