Ubisoft’s 80’s-oriented Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon continues to build up steam. What reportedly appeared to be an elaborate April Fools prank is a very real game. An official listing went up on Xbox.com over the weekend for a release around May 1st.
The shooter looks to take place around 2007, putting you in the shoes of Sergeant Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who’s been tasked to save the world. The game has references to 80’s sci-fi galore, and Ubisoft has also cast Michael Biehn of Aliens and Terminator fame to play the lead character.
Ubisoft will be hosting a “digital days” event this week, where it’s expected to officially announce the title and show it in playable form for the first time. We’ll have a preview for you sometime in the next few days to give you an idea what to expect.
In the meantime, if you want to give the soundtrack a listen, the team at Powerglove has put up a few sample tracks from the game…and, of course, they’re awesome.
