Director Mashiro Sakurai has provided a new screenshot from the game, showcasing an exclusive new world for the 3DS edition of Smash – Super Mario 3D Land.  It’s a scrolling level where characters will have to keep up with one another while avoiding collapsing platforms.

Other content has also been confirmed as being exclusive to the 3DS version, including levels based on The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Arena Ferox and Gerudo Valley.  No word yet on what exclusive content the Wii U version will receive, but we’ll find out soon.

Super Smash Bros. will release on 3DS and Wii U sometime next year.
