Baldur’s Gate 3 Dynamic Split Screen Mode Confirmed

Currently, each player has their own portion of the screen when playing in split-screen mode. This can be a bit distracting and gets in the way of immersion at times. However, with Patch 7, Larian Studios has confirmed that players can enable the Dynamic Split Screen Mode, which merges the screens into a single one when players are close to each other. They have shared the following gifs to demonstrate the effect.

This mode does not replace the original style and can be enabled in the HUD settings both in and out of combat.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Closed Beta

If you’re interested in testing out the patch early, you can request access to it directly through the game’s store page on Steam. The closed beta will go live on July 22, 2024. During this, you’ll be able to test out the new features and report any issues you find directly to Larian, similar to how it worked in the early access period. This is only available on PC.

It’s great that Larian Studios is continuing to support the title, and the official modding toolkit will allow players to easily access development tools to create, and share mods. The dynamic split-screen mode is a welcome addition, and will further enhance the game’s immersion. For more on Baldur’s Gate 3, make sure to check out our extensive coverage and tips.
