Zamasu/Vegito DLC Release Date

  • May 31, 2018

Dragon Ball FighterZ players can expect to play as Merged Zamasu and Vegito next week on May 31, 2018. The characters will go live when the PSN Store, Xbox Live Marketplace and Steam update on the 31st, which means time will vary by platform and region. However, much like the last two DLC characters, PS4 and Xbox One owners may need to access their respective online stores and click on the new DLC in order for it to properly download to their console.

While the characters should appear on your character select screen once they’re available, they will be locked even if you purchased the season pass. You’ll need to access the store for your platform to get them to download and unlock. Once you’ve done that you will be able to use both characters in all game modes where they are playable.

Both characters hail from the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga. While Vegito was seen in Dragon Ball Z, this is the Super Saiyan Blue form of the character, which is currently exclusive to Dragon Ball Super. Goku and Vegeta used Potara earrings to fuse into Vegito in order to fight Zamasu. Meanwhile, Merged Zamasu also used Potara earrings to fuse Zamasu and Goku Black into one being.

Xbox Early Release Trick

Vegito and Zamasu are currently available for the Xbox One (as of May 30), but only if you go into your Xbox settings and change the region to New Zealand. The characters are now available in New Zealand, which means you need to trick your Xbox into thinking that’s the region you’re in. While changing the region to New Zealand should be enough for most people, some Xbox One owners may need to perform a hard reset after changing your region (hold down the power button until it powers off and resets). Either way, you will still need to manually download both characters from the Xbox Live Marketplace in order to unlock them on the character select screen in the game.
