Disney is no stranger to the world of video games. From adventures in Epic Mickey to the heartfelt story of Kingdom Hearts, Disney has been in the video game industry for quite some time. This morning it announced an entirely new game called Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Announced For PC & Consoles
It’s a life simulator that lets you live in a town full of your favorite Disney characters. The reveal trailer shows off snow environments with the cast of Frozen, Eric, and Arielle singing on the beach, and even getting to cook with our pal Remy from Ratatouille.
The official description of the game can be found below.
“Disney Dreamlight Valley is a hybrid between a life-sim and an adventure game rich with quests, exploration, and engaging activities featuring Disney and Pixar friends, both old and new.Â
Once an idyllic land, Dreamlight Valley was a place where Disney and Pixar characters lived in harmony—until the Forgetting. Night Thorns grew across the land and severed the wonderful memories tied to this magical place. With nowhere else to go, the hopeless inhabitants of Dreamlight Valley retreated behind locked doors in the Dream Castle.”
You’ll be diving into caverns and completing challenges and quests from Disney characters scattered around the four different realms. Customization will allow you to dress up your own avatar to fit in how you want.
The game will launch this year in Early Access this summer with an eventual full release in 2023. If you’re looking to get into the Early Access version you’ll need to purchase a Founder’s Pack or if you own a subscription to Xbox Game Pass. No further pricing information has been given at this time.
Disney Dreamlight Valley will launch on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, And eventually the Nintendo Switch and IOS as a free to play game.
