Today, Nighthawk Interactive revealed Disney Classic Games Collection, a souped-up version of the previous iteration based on Aladdin and The Lion King. This new edition, which is set to come out on November 9, 2021, includes more content including Jungle Book and the surprising inclusion of Super Nintendo versions previously absent. While a new physical version and digital SKU are both being released, previous owners of the Aladdin and Lion King collection can upgrade via a $9.99 DLC purchase. The full release is priced at $29.99.

Developed by games preservation house Digital Eclipse, Disney Classic Games Collection adds what it calls the “Jungle Book and MORE Aladdin Pack” to the original release. Titled Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King, the original release didn’t include Jungle Book, and it also didn’t include the Super Nintendo version of Aladdin. The original omission was likely due to Aladdin’s different console versions being totally different games, the Sega Genesis version being a Virgin title (like the rest of these) and the Super Nintendo version being a Capcom project.
As you can see in the trailer, these versions are referred to as the “N” and “S” console editions, removing the Nintendo and Sega branding. This has happened before in Digital Eclipse releases, such as the Disney Afternoon Collection having to wipe the console branding from its scanned box art.
In addition to the new games, this set also includes more behind the scenes material, and physical copies will (while supplies last of course) include a “retro-style instruction manual.” The manual included will be one of four possible, one for each game (Aladdin is two different games, remember).
