Destiny 2’s Season of Opulence has officially gone live bringing with it new endgame events and new rewards to earn. That being said, Bungie has mentioned that a new “era” was on the horizon for the shooter and if the most recent datamined leak proves true, that includes cross-save compatibility across all platforms.

With Bungie holding a livestream for the 6th, it looks like this could be one of the many bits of news they will have to share with Guardians all over the world. It’s a smart move, especially since the PC version had a staggered launch after Xbox One and PlayStation 4, meaning many players may have double-dipped to get some extra gametime in. This will also help make it even easier to invite friends to join in on any platform, because they won’t have to worry about losing their hard-earned progress.
For me personally, I scooped up Destiny 2 on Xbox One first before eventually migrating over to PC. PC being my platform of choice, I was excited to play on my setup, but didn’t want to wait until the delayed launch so capped out my Guardian on Xbox. To be able to transfer my original Guardian over would be awesome, and would make changing between the two depending on my clan even easier.
This is definitely a step in the right direction for Bungie as they continuously make their shooter better and better. The general opinion skyrocketed following Forsaken’s launch, and it seems like the separation from Activision has got all of their creative juices flowing.
It looks like we could be learning more about cross-save and the Shadowkeep expansion leaked earlier during tomorrow’s big reveal.
