CD Projekt RED thrilled gamers once more with an impressive E3 trailer during the Xbox conference, they even revealed Keanu Reeves with the actor himself present for the festivities. We recently had a chance to sit down with the team behind the inspiring open-world RPG coming next year but it was interesting to learn from our friends over at PC Gamer how truly passive the game could potentially be.
Lead quest designer Pawel Sasko told the site, “Right now, every weapon and every cyberware has a nonlethal option.” That being said, that doesn’t mean that non-lethality is always easy. In fact, it’s easy to accidentally go ham too: “There’s one thing: only weapons that are lethal by definition, so let’s say you shoot someone with a bazooka in his face. You shoot his head off. That’s typically lethal,” he added.
“But everything else actually has a nonlethal option. Pretty much every gun, pretty much every cyberware, you’re able to use in a nonlethal way. You’re able to knock them down, choke them, make them sleep and so on. There are ways not to kill them and spare them, like the way you could do with Sasquatch, the boss.”
There are also stealth options as well by hacking the city’s security options, ramping up that charm to have people cover for the main character and so many ways that players can choose to take a much more passive role. We’ll be posting up some of our interview later today as well as an impressions piece about the latest gameplay reveal.
As for the game itself, April 16, 2020 is the magic date! Are you ready?
