During E3 earlier this year, we here at Prima Games had a chance to see a closed press demo and an opportunity to interview some of the devs. You can see a lot of our previous interviews right here through our game hub, but one thing we didn’t talk about was the very beginning. For fans looking to build their own totally unique V, there are three different Cyberpunk 2077 origin stories to choose from.
“The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths,” says Cyberpunk 2077’s lead quest designer PaweÅ‚ Sasko when talking to VG24/7. “You can be Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid. Each of that Lifepaths has a different starting location and story background that are strongly connected with the origin story.”
With our time the team explained a little more about the three origins, with the “Corpo” tale being less of a thug and more of a corporate sell-out. Each origin story comes with their own perks and their own ways of dealing with danger within Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 has done nothing but impress thus far and continues to do so ahead of its launch next year. For those that didn’t get to see the demo from E3, no fear! A similar version has already been confirmed to go live during PAX West later on this year.
As for the game itself, CD Projekt RED’s brand new IP officially arrives on April 16th, 2020. For more about the game:
“Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyber-enhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.”
