Following E3’s epic Cyberpunk 2077 presentation, the devs behind the open-world RPG title have been a lot more open about what’s next. We here at Prima Games sat with the team earlier this year as well to discuss what’s next, including Witcher III style romances, but one thing CD Projekt RED is talking about now is how they are planning to shock players with a pretty hefty plot twist.
CD Projekt RED has what’s called Night City News, a newsletter where they can explore more about Cyberpunk 2077 with interested fans. In this zine’s first issue, the team talks about “Who’s that girl” when looking at Bug, a character we saw in the E3 2019 cinematic trailer and one person that has a major role to play in the narrative’s twists and turns.
“You’ve seen her in action in E3 2019 cinematic trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 where she disabled V’s cybernetic implants with just a blink of an eye but who is she? Her name is Bug and she is one of the best netrunners in Night City,” boasts the studio. “With cybernetic augments implanted into her body, Bug uses her brain-computer interface implants to roam the web and hack information to sell. Her consistency and persistence have brought her respect and trust in the field, although it’s not yet clear how she crossed her ways with V.”
They also mentioned how players saw a very different side to this character during last year’s presentation when Bug actually helped out the protagonist, despite being an enemy. “Bug played a role in last-years gameplay reveal where she helped V locate a target during the mission, while this year she clearly stands against our character. We can’t wait to see the plot twist between those two events!”
We’ll get to see more of both V and Bug soon enough when Cyberpunk 2077 officially drops for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 16, 2020.
