Fans were upset when The Pokémon Company released a teaser trailer for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire that lacked info. Everyone assumed (correctly) that both games are remakes of the hit GBA classics, Ruby and Sapphire, but we wanted details.
Now that we’re inching closer to the November 21st release, there’s some juicy bits of info, and this one in particular is awesome. We learned that players will be able to create and then customize their own secret bases in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Thankfully, there’s more to it than just building a place to call home. For starters, you’ll be able to invite friends via StreetPass or QR codes and set up mazes or traps for these people to discover; you can even create battle rules, essentially transforming it into a Pokémon Gym.
On top of that, you can make Secret Pals with these people, allowing you to share decorations, help make a Pokémon egg hatch faster and level up battle monsters. You can even capture flags at Secret PCs. The more you have, the easier it will be to improve your Secret Pals’ skills.
Bottom line, huge news that instantly makes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire more appealing.
