Children in The Sims 4 Are Finally Getting New Aspirations For the First Time

More aspirations means more goals to speedrun

During a recent The Sims 4 live stream, we learned more about the upcoming Infants update and the Growing Together expansion pack. Both are releasing in mid-March, but until now, we mainly had bits and pieces of what’s in store. One of the most exciting announcements unveiled in the stream is that child Sims will get new aspirations for the first time since the game launched.

In the live stream, we saw a comprehensive walkthrough of the Growing Together Create-a-Sim features. While there are plenty of fun hair, body and clothing options, the real excitement came from the four new aspirations shown for children. Previously, children only had four related to their primary skills, meaning this pack doubles that number.

In the expansion, the aspirations are bundled into one category known as “Multiskill”. This aspiration category highlights that the child Sim will need multiple skills to accomplish their goals rather than beelining one and maxing it.

Below are the four aspirations the expansion will add:

  • Playtime Captain
  • Creative Genius
  • Mind and Body
  • Slumber Party Animal

Every one of these aspirations combines aspects of at least two skills to encourage your child Sim to try out multiple new things at once!

Alongside the new aspirations, the Growing Together expansion pack also introduces a new region named San Sequoia, new likes and dislikes, and plenty of new households for your Sims to interact with. The pack releases on March 16, 2023, with the free Infant update coming out slightly earlier on March 14!

The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 through the official website. If you’d like to learn more about the game, check out Where to Find Coconuts in The Sims 4: Island Living and When Does The Sims 4: Growing Together Expansion Pack Release?
