There has been talk all year about the next entry into the Call of Duty franchise being Modern Warfare 4, with leaks revealing possible battle royale, the return of single-player, and so much more. Now a leaked animation is speculated to be a teaser for the current Modern Warfare 4 rumors and sources are saying that we could see an official confirmation of these rumors any day now.

Another teaser can be found here, a new animation that coincides with a private event being held by Activision for college football players that are sponsored by the franchise. That being said, the second teaser could very easily be debunked, because it looks like a simple recoloring of Call of Duty Ghosts artwork, though that isn’t the case for the teaser seen in the above tweet. What could be the case for the above tweet is not the first Ghosts, but a sequel, which would be an odd choice given how poorly the first entry into the Ghosts sub-sect performed sales-wise.
What else is allegedly coming with the rumored Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4? Apparently, Battle Royale. No surprise there given how much Blackout has seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Clearly this very popular mode of online play transitioned quite well into the military shooter, so seeing the studio continuing that wouldn’t be much of a surprise.
Another leak also mentioned that it won’t have an all new campaign story, instead remastering the story from Modern Warfare 2 and even 3.
We’ll be learning more soon enough if the closed event is anything to go by. It looks like Activision is preparing to reveal what the next step for the Call of Duty franchise is.
