The Call of Duty Zombies mode has been a staple of the series since it was first introduced in Call of Duty: World at War. So it’s no surprise that it would be returning in Black Ops Cold War.

Today the first look at what Treyarch is bringing to the table this time was revealed to the world. In an eight-minute video, which can be seen below, we’re treated to a plethora of Zombies action.

Familiar items like the Pack-A-Punch machine and Jugger-Nog are highlighted, as well as some new and mysterious additions like poison-plagued dogs. The developers confirm that this is an entirely different storyline set in the same universe.

In Black Ops 4, the climatic Zombies storyline came to a close, sort of. So it was time for a new cast of characters. The new Zombies map is titled DIe Maschine and features plenty of what makes Zombies great.

Players will also be going back to the original Zombie map, Nacht Der Untoten, but a lot has changed since our first zombie romp there. The building is disheveled and covered in graffiti. Remnants of the battle that took place here are littered

about.

We don’t know for sure why we must return to this place, but I’m sure we won’t be welcomed with open arms from the undead horde.

Another massive change to the zombie’s formula comes from your starting weapons. Instead of starting with a pistol and working your way up to more powerful weapons, you’ll be able to start with any weapon you want to.

This is because progression in  Black Ops Cold War is streamlined between every game mode.

You’ll be able to call in scorestreaks, upgrade your weapons, and obtain perks just like usual.

Typically in Zombies, the only way out is through death. This time around, however, you’ll be able to call in a helicopter for extraction. You’ll have to survive a few extra rounds after calling it in, but it will grant you some bonus rewards if you make it out alive.

There is still plenty of easter-eggs and hidden secrets to uncover, so be sure to stick around as they uncover.
