Borderlands 3 players were supposed to have a new event to look forward to during the holidays, unfortunately, the tech gods had other plans. For those looking forward to the Borderlands 3 Takedown at the Maliwant Blacksite event, the latest adventure has been delayed until further notice, though we don’t have a release date at this time.

The event was supposed to go live on December 31st with the ability to scale the difficulty for a variety of players. While it’s definitely still on the way, it’s going to be a little while longer before we can actually get our hands on it:

We don’t know what the actual issue was that Gearbox found, only that it was big enough to overwhelm a simple hotfix. With a new decade ringing in with the 10s behind us, some made the usual Y2K joke based off of the huge concern when we rung in the 2000s 20 years ago. While that’s obviously not the case here, at least we know the team is avidly working on a fix and we’ll hopefully be able to take on the latest game addition sooner rather than later.

In other Borderlands news, the Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC went live last month, so at least there’s that for all to enjoy! In this DLC, players are tasked with hunting a “Vault” of loot while taking out the remnants of Handsome Jack’s derelict casino. According to Gearbox when revealing the new 3-player activity, “Moxxi’s assembling a crew to plunder a derelict space station casino and you’ve proven yourself worthy of joining her ragtag team of “experts.” Successfully battle your way through Hyperion security forces and crazed casino-goers to reach a safe loaded with Eridium, cash, and all-new Legendary loot!”

As for the game itself, Borderlands 3 is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia.
