It’s almost undeniable how incredibly successful Baldur’s Gate 3 has become in this current age of gaming. However, some players have found themselves lacking the motivation to keep playing after a certain point, and this issue seems consistent amongst many players. In essence, players think the third and final act just isn’t as fun as the rest of the game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have aired their concerns relating to the pacing issues in Act Three, remarking that the game has a problem with sending players back and forth with a tedious quest layout and a downgrade from the Shadow-Cursed Lands of Act Two and the Underdark from Act One. The game essentially becomes a slog to play for players who stick to one particular route.
“Act three by comparison is giving me the same feeling I get when I have to do laundry. I was really excited going into it since there was so much still left unsolved but the pacing and layout of the quests has burnt me out really badly”, says Reddit user u/milessupshur.
Some players who are more experienced with Larian’s RPGs have also confirmed that the final acts of their games aren’t their strongest suits. One Reddit user responded to a major post about Act 3’s change in pacing, mentioning that Act 3 being the least favorite seems to be a pretty unanimous opinion.
Other players in the same thread have also mentioned how the game’s third act does have strong side content, however. With some highlights being some of the best boss fights in the game alongside some strong side quests. So, perhaps some players might want to do some of those to avoid possibly burning out on an otherwise fantastic experience.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 5.
