Baldur’s Gate 3 Hit With Small Delay, New Release Date Coming Soon

We will have to wait a little bit longer for Baldur's Gate 3, but we have a feeling it will be well worth it!

We’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Larian Studios has some pretty exciting reveals coming up here shortly regarding Baldur’s Gate 3! The bad news? It won’t be ready for the original August 2020 launch like the studio originally planned.

COVID-19 dominated 2020 and caused many industries, including gaming, to revamp, refocus, and even delay important projects. While the team didn’t cite the pandemic as a reason for the delay, the global state has had fans halfway expecting a pushback to occur.

While we don’t have a new release date set yet for Baldur’s Gate 3, we do know we will have a new date revealed here shortly on August 18th alongside some big news from the Panel from Hell panel with Geoff Keighley.

The upcoming panel will include a few special guests and will air on August 18th at 10 AM PT. More character deep-dives, a possible new trailer, and that coveted release date; Baldur’s Gate 3 fans can’t wait to see it all (it me, I am Baldur’s Gate 3 fans).

If you’re not familiar with the Baldur’s Gate series, it is a video game franchise for the popular board game Dungeons & Dragons. Baldur’s Gate 3 was first teased back in 2019 and from there, D&D fans went wild.  We’ve had a few looks at what Baldur’s Gate 3 will have to offer, but we know for sure that this IP is in good hands with Larian Studios.
