Earlier this month, Larian Studios seemed to be teasing Baldur’s Gate 3, which was a shock to all since they were not previously part of this franchise. Given that Original Sin was an incredible successor to the Baldur’s Gate franchise, Larian’s involvement for the future of BG is beyond huge.
The confirmation came during the Google Stadia showcase ahead of this year’s E3, so without further adieu, check out the incredible trailer below:
“You will see Steam pages pop up, you will see GOG pages pop up, but no Epic pages will pop up,” said Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios, to USGamer. “I don’t see why not; I don’t believe in exclusives, I prefer to be everywhere.”
“Everything we’ve done in the past has been about adapting to the divide that you’re playing on, because the device shouldn’t matter when it comes to playing our games,” says Vincke. “That’s the only way they’re going to spread, so I really don’t want to locked down to one platform or another.”
In an age where exclusives or more common than not, this clarification will be a relief to many. Vincke also added that they’d love to see Baldur’s Gate everywhere, but that will take more time and money down the road and that the focus is getting players the Baldur’s Gate experience as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality. It’s been over a decade, so that goal is more than understandable.
