Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Addresses Egg Drop Rate for Bunny Day

Easter has taken over Animal Crossing: New Horizons ahead of the April 12 Bunny Day event, but most Islanders aren’t feeling the massively overabundant egg drop rate from the earth, sky, ocean, and even trees. Since farming for fish and other wildlife is a huge source of income when upgrading one’s island, the egg replacements are more than annoying – they are actually a hindrance. Luckily for all of us, Nintendo sees that frustrating and has planned accordingly with the latest New Horizons update. 

A new update has gone live already with the 1.1.4 patch notes and according to Nintendo, the “appearance rate of some eggs has been adjusted.” The same notes from Nintendo also mentioned that the eggs will also be easier to collect on the actual Easter date with the Bunny Day event on April 12. So fewer eggs but still easy to get on the date. Huzzah! Now gimme those Turkeyfish! 

For those that haven’t jumped in quite yet to face the eggscapades, the biggest complaint is that when players would go to mine rocks or fish in the nearby water only to capture eggs for this event instead. This, for obvious reasons, upset the very economic balance of the game, thus frustrated the community to no end. That being said, some have enjoyed getting so many eggs since they can be used to craft nifty limited-time-only craftables like egg beds, vanities, and so much more. 

The latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons update is now live through Nintendo is actively monitoring the feedback on the most recent changes, meaning that if it’s still not seen as enough it’s possible to see at least one more nerf before April 12 arrives.
