Amazon Studios’ new MMORPG NEw World has been given yet another delay. The game has been delayed quite a few times already, but after the most recent beta test for the game, the team has decided to push the release date from August 31, to September 28, 2021.
Update (8.4.21 6:16 pm): Amazon has reached out to correct the number in their statement below. Over 25 million hours of the beta was played by users, not 16.
Amazon’s MMORPG New World Delayed to September 28 to Address Feedback From Closed Beta
Looks like Adventurers played more hours than we thought! During the Beta we actually had more than 25 million hours played.
😊 Thanks again for participating in the Closed Beta.

This short delay will give the team more time to address the feedback given from the beta test. You can read the team’s statement below.
“Along the way, you’ve also given us a ton of feedback that we’ll use to make New World even better. We want New World’s launch to be a smooth and fun experience for all players, and that means making some improvements based on what you encountered during Closed Beta. So we’re going to take a few extra weeks to smash bugs, improve stability, and polish the game. New World’s new global launch date is September 28, 2021.”
New World saw a lot of success during it closed beta streams reaching the top of the Twitch charts throughout the week.
Amazon has not had the best track record when it comes to releasing games, as we’ve seen in the past with the now-canceled team shooter Crucible, which launched, and then was put into Beta, then officially canceled.
