Activision Blizzard has been enjoying immense success with its latest Diablo game, with millions of units sold and users around the world engaging in fiery combat and strategy. But it looks like the game could very well be spreading into a new realm, if a recent interview with Polygon is any indication.
Blizzard executive Rob Pardo stated, “We’ve got builds up and running on it. We’re hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we’re not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it’s looking pretty cool.”
Following up on that, Diablo III lead designer Jay Wilson stated that Blizzard is “exploring console options,” but stopped just short of confirming anything. He also stated this is the “next big Diablo thing,” and followed up with “A lot of that stuff will show up next year at some point.”
Right now, it’s still a waiting game. But 2013 could be the franchise’s biggest year to date…
