We’ve got that Friday Feeling here in the office, and it’s almost time to stop looking at the bad screen (AKA, doing work) and start looking at the good screen (AKA, playing video games for fun). While we patiently await the final clack of our keyboards, we dream of what we get to look forward to during the weekend. There’s tons of variety around the virtual office, so let’s see what our talented staff are planning on jumping into during their downtime.
Shawn Robinson – A Hat In Time/Diablo 4
This weekend I’ll mainly be dabbling in two games: A Hat in Time and Diablo 4. A Hat in Time has always held a special place in my heart as the game that made me fall in love with 3D platformers. It might borrow a ton from classic 3D Mario games, but it borrows all the greatest aspects of them while retaining its own style and flair. Diablo 4 I’m still working through on a myriad of characters, though my Necro’s taken the lead at level 40. Totally getting Act 3 done this weekend and finally getting a mount.
Madison Benson – The Sims 4
I plan on playing The Sims 4 this weekend! I just started a household with the “Unlucky Chef” scenario and plan on going the celebrity chef route. It’s a struggle out here, but it’s rewarding. I love this game’s scenarios, so I always look forward to trying them for fun.

Joe Greene – Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2
There’s nothing like watching an army of 100,000 Toads run into battle towards 500 Clone Troopers. Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2 (UEBS 2) is the ultimate “sit back and relax” game. Simply set up the battle of your choice, and watch as your dark curiosities unfold into a bloodbath of fun! If I wanted to, I could have these poor Toads duke it out against the Colossal Titan from Attack on Titan. Actually, I think I have my weekend plans decided now…
Priscilla Wells – Pokemon Violet
This weekend I’ll be finishing up the PokeDex in Pokémon Violet in anticipation of the upcoming DLC! I’m a little late to the party in this regard but I’m still discovering Pokémon I haven’t seen before now! I’m also having an enjoyable time playing a certain upcoming remake of a fan-favourite game!

Shaun Cichacki – Batman Returns (SNES)
After celebrating Grimace’s Birthday, I figured I needed to keep the retro-fest alive. I remember playing through a ton of Batman Returns when I was younger, but I never actually got close to beating the game. Now that I’m older, I’m hoping that I can finally beat this one, so I can cross off yet another retro title from my playlist. It holds up amazing to this day and still has some of the most satisfying punch noises in any game on the market. Old Konami knew how to make a banger of a game.
UPDATE: I already need new weekend plans…. Guess I may finally be diving into Wo Long after putting it off for so long, or finally giving Sun Haven a try. However, final boss of Batman Returns is Danny Devito, so easy 10/10.
Dan Wenerowicz – DMZ Season 4 / Diablo IV
Activision has me hooked for this weekend. I’ll be going back and forth between DMZ Season 4 and Diablo 4. When I get sick of the grind to level 100, I’ll be hunting squads in Vondel. And once I’ve lost enough loot, I’ll be back to the demons, attempting to get those sweet Ancestral armor pieces.

Meg Bethany Koepp – Destiny 2 / Honkai Star Rail
I feel like I’m spoiled for choice this weekend because not only do I have to finish up playing [REDACTED] for an upcoming review (embargo lifts on Tuesday, watch this space), but the Prima Teama Destiny 2 clan will also be getting our Raid on. We beat King’s Fall a couple of weeks back, and now it’s time for Root of Nightmares!
I’ve also just got my hands on the ASUS ROG Ally, which runs Honkai: Star Rail beautifully, so I’ll probably be playing that at 2AM when I can’t sleep because who needs sleep when you’ve got your waifus? Fellow insomniacs, rise up.
Matt Vatankhah – BattleBit Remastered
If you’d have told me I’d be hooked on a Battlefield clone that looks like some wacky Roblox mod, I would’ve probably been too distracted by Street Fighter 6 to hear you. BattleBit Remastered took me by surprise, offering the best of the Battlefield franchise at its prime in one incredibly feature-rich package. If you hear someone screaming “MEDIC!” obnoxiously loud over the weekend, please come revive me.

No matter if we’re diving deep into the caverns of nostalgia or getting involved in the latest and greatest, it’s always fun to find out what’s on the playlist for the weekend. Maybe you’ll even find something new to jump into that you may not have heard of before. I have to admit, Matt has me very interested in BattleBit Remastered, so I may need to break my multiplayer dry spell and hop into that one. But for now, I’m back to the streets of Gotham for some 16-Bit beat ’em-up action.
