Friday has arrived, and you know what that means… End of the Week recap time! If you’re just now stumbling across Prima’s End of the Week recap and aren’t quite sure what these are for, essentially they’re features we put together every Friday.
In them, we provide quick and easy links to all of the news, features, reviews, and guides that we’ve published during the week. If you feel like you missed something and want to catch up, the End of the Week recap is the best place to do it.
We also include a Staff Chat section where we talk about various subjects including events of the week, what we’re playing, and more. If you use Twitch, we also do a livestream every Friday from 5:30 p.m. (ET) to 6:30 p.m. (ET) on twitch.tv/primagames.
With that out of the way, here’s everything you might have missed during the week of April 5 through April 9, 2021 on the Prima Games website!

What are your thoughts on Pac-Man 99?
I had fun with it obviously, but I don’t think It’s gonna have the same shelf life for me as Tetris 99 does. I still pop into Tetris almost daily, but with Pac-Man I feel good after getting a couple wins. Games like this need to feel distinct round to round and I don’t think this will hold up as it is.
Are you surprised or sad about Deathloop being delayed?
I really don’t care lol. No shade; there’s just nothing about Deathloop that appeals to my tastes.
What have been some of your favorite games of 2021 so far?
Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is amazing; Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection and Atelier Ryza 2 are also way up there.
Do you think we’ll get any cool game announcements over the summer?
Oh for sure, especially since E3 is back. The news will be more packed together too so the Big Event Feel will be back to some degree.
Favorite piece on the site this week and why?
Morgan’s Before Your Eyes coverage has been awesome, especially the review of course.
Playing anything fun this weekend?
Yes, but I can’t talk about it yet and it’s killing me. It’s very on-brand, is all I’ll say.
What about TV, movies, anime, or music, are you enjoying anything lately that you’d recommend?
I watched the first episode of The World Ends With You’s anime adaptation, and it feels like it’s gonna be a solid ride. I’m definitely tuning in next week.
Bonus question, it’s spring, the weather is getting nice, what game do you think has some of the prettiest in-game scenery and areas to explore?
This is probably gonna come off as dopey, but I, no cap, think recent 3D Sonic games fit the bill here. You don’t do a whole lot of exploring in them, but especially when it comes to daytime areas with lots of greens and other spring-like colors, you could look to games like Sonic: Lost World or Sonic Unleashed for some really powerful springtime vibes.
Jesse
What are your thoughts on Pac-Man 99?
I’ve never been a huge Pac-Man person so it feels like something I might check out if I have some spare time somewhere down the road. It was a fun surprise though, that’s for certain.
Are you surprised or sad about Deathloop being delayed?
A little surprised because we were so close to launch and it’s a pretty massive delay. I appreciate Arkane Lyon doing what it needs to do for the safety of its employees. I’m still excited about it and I’ll be there whenever it’s ready.
What have been some of your favorite games of 2021 so far?
Monster Hunter is probablymy current frontrunner. Hitman 3 isn’t too far behind. I still have a ton of indies to catch up on though so we will see where I sit in a few months.
Do you think we’ll get any cool game announcements over the summer?
I imagine there is something cool in the pipeline, but it’s been such an unpredictable year and a half that at this point who knows what sort of announcements people have ready.
Favorite piece on the site this week and why?
Loved Morgan talking about Before Your Eyes, and I think Lucas really killed it with the microphone review.
Playing anything fun this weekend?
Some embargoed stuff, but mostly I’ll be digging more into the Diablo 2 Resurrected Tech alpha so be on the lookout for some impressions.
What about TV, movies, anime, or music, are you enjoying anything lately that you’d recommend?
I might check out that World Ends With You anime this weekend. I watched the new Falcon and Winter Soldier episode this morning so I don’t have anything currently on the horizon.
Bonus question, it’s spring, the weather is getting nice, what game do you think has some of the prettiest in-game scenery and areas to explore?
For as dated as some of those environments are, there’s something so warm and cozy about visiting the areas in World of Warcraft. The Elywnn Forest in particular is a favorite spot of mine.
Morgan
What are your thoughts on Pac-Man 99?
I think it’s an interesting choice across the board, to continue the “battle royale” theme from Tetris to Mario and now to Pac-Man. I think it works, and it makes sense, and it’s fun, so ultimately it’s cool. In my heart, Tetris 99 will always be #1 though.
Are you surprised or sad about Deathloop being delayed?
Not surprised, a little sad as I’ve been itching to check it out. I feel like the September delay is fair though, better September than to hear the game’s been delayed until next year.
What have been some of your favorite games of 2021 so far?
Before Your Eyes, The Medium… it’s hard to list because there’s been a lot of indies I’ve checked out as well and I’ve loved all of them. I guess if I had to narrow it down, Before Your Eyes and The Medium stand out to me the most (from what I’ve played).
Do you think we’ll get any cool game announcements over the summer?
Absolutely! Still hanging on to the idea we’ll hear about a new Silent Hill game. Probably will hear about a few remaster/remakes either way, maybe we’ll get something out of left field from Nintendo. I’m curious to see what their Holiday 2021 lineup will be for sure.
Favorite piece on the site this week and why?
First, going to shout out the freelancers who contributed some awesome stuff to the site this week with James’s PS Vita article and Adam’s Mundaun article. Also loved Lucas’s SamSho article I think it makes a lot of fantastic points, and Jesse’s Monster Hunter guides.
I’d also say I’m very proud of the interviews I did this week with indie devs like GoodbyeWorld Games, Cole Cecil, and Brandon Braun.
Playing anything fun this weekend?
The weather is actually surprisingly nice this weekend so I want to say… probably not.
What about TV, movies, anime, or music, are you enjoying anything lately that you’d recommend?
Usually I have some music to recommend because I have no self-control but I actually don’t this week. I may check out a horror kdrama called Sweet Home this weekend, a few people have suggested I check it out and it looks right up my alley. If you’re looking for kdrama horror, that’s one to check out I guess!
Bonus question, it’s spring, the weather is getting nice, what game do you think has some of the prettiest in-game scenery and areas to explore?
I really found Red Dead Redemption 2 to be really beautiful scenery wise. I can think of a number of other games, but I definitely spent a lot of time just wandering around in RDR2 soaking in all the in-game nature so yeah, RDR2 is my pick.
