Ever wondered what the original Fallout would look like as a 3D FPS? Wonder no longer because this fan video breaks it down in all of its glory. One fan took the original tactical strategy game and gave it a more modern Fallout flair by turning it into a 3D FPS that allows us to see what could have been if the Fallout of today matched to its humble beginnings.
What would the original Fallout look like as a 3D FPS?
The latest creation comes from DeviantUser ‘Red888Guns’, via Don’t Feed the Gamers, and reimagines the original isometric RPG as a 3D First-Person Shooter. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the original game remade into something more similar to that of the Fallout entries that followed it, but it is incredibly detailed to be on par with those previous mods that let us see the beginnings in a whole new light.
И вновь Red888guns (Александр Берёзин) фантазирует на тему Fallout. На этот раз полёт мысли зашёл очень далеко и он представил, как бы выглядела первая часть известной серии от первого лица. pic.twitter.com/pqSc8udejG

The original Fallout released back in 1997 for DOS, Windows, and Macintosh players. This game was meant to be a spiritual successor to 1988’s Wasteland and was instantly hailed as a cult classic from the team over at Interplay Entertainment and Black Isle Studios. Though it wasn’t 3D and an FPS like the Fallouts we know of today, the tactical RPG went on to spawn Brotherhood of Steel without the help of Black Isle Studios. Then came Fallout 3 spearheaded by Bethesda Softworks followed shortly by Fallout: New Vegas by Obsidian Entertainment and then Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 back into the hands of Bethesda.
While Fallout 76 was met with overwhelmingly negative feedback and Fallout 4 was met with mixed reception, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are still crowning achievements for this franchise in addition to the original game that started it all despite the vast differences between these adventures.
Now that Bethesda owns the IP in its entirety, it’s unlikely we’ll ever get a remake of the first Fallout – much less one that looks like this – but it is interesting to see how fans take a beloved game and put their own personal style to it to make it something entirely new.
This artist shared numerous conceptual art about the original Fallout as a 3D FPS, including GIFs to show progression, and you can check those out right here through their official DeviantArt page.
