As the guide author, I’ve spent plenty of time dissecting all of the Stages in Hyrule Warriors, and narrowing down my favorite Stage was difficult. But, when push came to shove, one stood slightly above the rest in my list of personal preference: the Temple of Souls. While trying to avoid any spoilers, the Temple of Souls is home to one of the game’s antagonists and it shows. Outside the temple is a garden full of giant hedges covered with enormous red roses. This monstrous garden is decorated with statues of Link as a boy. Weird, right? It gets weirder.

Inside the temple is a distorted environment that looks like it’s the gateway between Link’s world and some other, far more terrible place. The halls and rooms are warped and crumbling, seeming as if they were inspired by surrealist art. It’s a bizarre and distorted world that undoubtedly shows the strange and warping mind of its owner.

The weirdness hits its peak when you enter this specific enemy’s room. All along the walls are images of Link in various stages of his life, almost as though we’ve entered the lair of the all-time greatest and most obsessive Link fan.

It’s one of the most visually interesting maps in the game, in my opinion, and it says so much about the enemy who owns it. It’s definitely among the darkest, creepiest stages in the game and I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait until players get to this point and share their thoughts on this stage.
