Ranking Fortnite skins is not an easy task—there have been so many fantastic ones that play a hand in making the game even more popular. But for you, dear reader, we’ll try anyways: here’s a look at the best Fornite skins of all time.
Top 15 Best Fortnite Skins of All Time
Some of the best cosmetics can be purchased in the Item Shop and unlocked through challenges, and while they may not provide any competitive advantage, they do net you bragging rights between friends and enemies alike. Scroll through crossover skins from Marvel and DC to Stranger Things as we dig through the battle royale’s history books to show you the best Fortnite skins of all time.
Deadpool
Deadpool was introduced as a challenge reward in Chapter 2, Season 2. Players went mad about him instantly, which makes him one of the best skins of all time by default. He is the perfect crossover as he uses an assault rifle and a rocket launcher in the comics and movies.
Spider-Man
Spider-Man is yet another crossover that sent fans wild when it was released. It was made available for the first time in the Chapter 3: Season 1 Battle Pass with a web-shooter item. Just a week later, the legendary skin was pushed to the Item Shop so many could score a Victory Royale as the iconic superhero.
Renegade Raider
Perhaps one of the rarest skins in Fortnite, Renegade Raider was only ever available as a Battle Pass reward in Chapter 1, Season 1. The rarity has automatically scored it a place on the list, not to mention that having it means you’re an OG player.
Superman
Since Fortnite’s launch, many superheroes have entered the realm, and like the rest of them, the excitement building up for Superman’s release was insanely high, especially since it was revealed as a Chapter 2 Season 7 Secret Skin.
In addition to the immortal outfit, it also came with an emote that transformed you from Clark Kent to Superman mid-match. There was also an epic Shadow style reserved for the most dedicated players.
Peely
The sole reason to play with Peely is the absolute ridiculousness factor. Released with Chapter 1, Season 8, you’ll be spotted from miles away on the island as you are, quite literally, a peeled banana with limbs. The skin starts off as a greenish-yellow color, before ripening to a classic yellow and then slowly to brown as the match progresses, just like the fruit would do in real life. Kinda cool, huh?
Midas
Midas is one of Fortnite’s original characters and one of the best-designed ones. The leader of spies was the Level 100 reward for Chapter 2, Season 2’s Battle Pass.
Since then, he has become insanely popular and has received various iterations, including Shadow Midas and Midas Rex.
Demogorgon
The crossover hit skin from the Netflix fantasy-horror series Stranger Things, the Demogorgon is certainly one of the most terrifying cosmetics ever seen in Fortnite.
It was added to the battle royale in Chapter 1, Season 9, but was last seen available on November 6th, 2023.
The Mandalorian
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 brought Marvel characters, and many thought that the anticipation couldn’t have been beaten. However, Season 5 saw the arrival of the heavily popular bounty hunter, The Mandalorian, from Star Wars.
The skin is special in several ways and perhaps the best one yet. Players could unlock extra pieces of armor as they progressed through the Battle Pass. Moreover, you got a Baby Yoda back bling after reaching Level 100, which automatically gives it top marks.
Wolverine Zero
Back in June, 2022, Fortnite managed to dip its toes into Marvel’s comic book world with a full crossover event that saw the release of the Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War comic book miniseries published by Marvel itself. The series ran over five issues, and each issue provided redeemable codes that would unlock cosmetic items in Fortnite, Chapter 3 Season 3.
We can’t attest to the quality of the comic series itself, but there’s no denying Fortnite’s attempt to reach into the comics sphere was a fun, bold move.
Zero War saw some unique makeovers for a few different Marvel characters to match Fortnite’s battle royale theme. But its take on Wolverine makes for a particularly pleasant rugged appearance—even if Wolverine needing an eyepatch is questionable considering his mutant healing factor.
Mystique
Mystique is arguably one of the greatest characters in comics, which automatically makes her one of the best Fortnite crossover characters in our eyes.
Made available as part of the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass, Fortnite did a wonderful job representing her here, taking inspiration from the iconic outfit worn in the 1992 animated series and her 1978 debut appearance in the Ms. Marvel comics.
Beef Boss
Released as part of the Durrr Burger Set in Season 5, Beef Boss represents the mascot for Fortnite’s fictional fast food restaurant, DurrBurger. It’s a delightfully classic fast food appearance that gives off some fun, goofy vibes.
Beef Boss also coincided with a pretty fun marketing gimmick that saw the DurrBurger mascot disappear and reappear in the real life Palmdale, California desert. And while that might not add any aesthetical value to the Fortnite skin, it’s still pretty neat.
Dummy Supreme
Dummy Supreme is an update to the classic Dummy Fortnite skin. It arrived in Chapter 3 Season 4 as part of the FNCS set for FNCS Invitational 2022. And however you feel about the Dummy skin, you have to admit it’s hard to look away from Dummy Supreme’s iridescent glow-up. Frankly, we can stare at its hypnotically shiny luster for forever.
The Batman Who Laughs
The Batman Who Laughs may not be the most recognizable of Batman’s rogues gallery due to just how recently he was created, but he’s had one of the quickest leaps to cross-media platforms in comic book character history, having appeared in Mortal Kombat 11 a mere two years after his creation and now Fortnite. He’s quickly becoming an iconic figure amongst DC fans, and it’s not hard to see why given his brilliant character design.
As a Fortnite skin, The Batman Who Laughs was made available as part of the shop rotation during Chapter 2 Season 8. You should definitely pick it up if you come across it. And if you haven’t, we highly recommend you read The Batman Who Laughs comic series by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo while you’re at it. It’s quite excellent. But not the Dark Nights: Metal series in which he initially appeared. You can skip that one.
Fish Thicc
Fortnite skins can get pretty silly, and Fish Thicc is a great example of the cartoonish absurdity the game is so willing to embrace. A “remake” of Fortnite’s original Fishstick character skin, Fish Thicc sees their lean bipedal fish boy become swole and adopt a bro vibe. It’s perhaps the best use of wordplay Fortnite has to offer, and it works on many different levels.
Players could pick up the Fish Thicc skin as a part of the Chapter 4 Season 4 Battle Pass.
Spider-Gwen
If we’re talking about popular crossover character skins in Fortnite, we’d be remiss not to mention Spider-Gwen. Not only is she one of the most-used crossover characters in the game, but she’s been lovingly reproduced in Fortnite with her sleek design mirroring the excellent and highly unique stylized animation from the Spider-Verse movies and, of course, her comic book appearances. The cel-shaded pink sheen is a very nice touch.
The Spider-Gwen skin in Fortnite was made available through the Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass. And, like with The Batman Who Laughs, we can’t let the opportunity pass us by to recommend the original 2015 Spider-Gwen comic book run—one of the most beautiful superhero comics you’ll find. She’s not just a great Fortnite skin, but a great character too.
Well, those are the best Fortnite skins of all time, or so we strongly believe. For more Fortnite, check out our guide on how to speed up Fornite queue times.
