After turning on cheats, use the command sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas to open up the Create-A-Sim menu and change your clothes. Using cheats is the only way to change your work outfit in The Sims 4, aside from gaining a promotion or changing jobs. This cheat only works on full-time job outfits, though; attempting this with part-time career uniforms won’t work.

How to Turn on Cheats in The Sims 4

Before getting into the specific command, though, you’ll have to enable cheats in your save. Below are the keys to open the cheats menu if you’re unsure:

  • PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + C
  • PlayStation: R1+ R2 + L1 + L2
  • Xbox: RB + RT + LB + LT

From here, you just have to type in “testingCheats true” to enable cheats in your save.

After turning on cheats, use the command sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas to open up the Create-a-Sim menu. It’ll appear identical to the regular version where you first create your character or change clothes from your wardrobe.

The only difference this time, though, is you can change your career uniform! The picture below shows me doing this with our Supreme Villain character, turning her job outfit into a garden gnome costume.

As mentioned previously, using this cheat to change your outfit is limited to Sims with full-time careers. Attempting this on a Sim with a part-time job will still bring up the CAS menu, but upon confirming and exiting the screen, you’ll keep the default outfit.

You need to enable cheats, and then enter the cheat console. When you’re in the cheat console, enter the Sims 4 change work outfit cheat: sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas. Here’s how to open the Sims 4 cheats menu on each platform:
