Few things are certain in life beyond taxation, exploitation, and the sweet release of death. But if there’s one certainty, one silver lining, it’s that Ice Pokemon are top-tier. Not just in design (which they are) but in their move sets and their ability to take the unjustifiably haughty Dragon Pokemon down a few pegs.

You’ll encounter a handful of these Ice-Type Pokemon in the Paldea region of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that will only evolve with Ice Stones, from the elegant Glaceon to the extremely round Cetitan. But as you’ve perused the wares of Delibird Present shops across Paldea, you might have noticed that the Ice Stone is conspicuously missing.

Here’s how to get an Ice Stone for yourself.

How to Get Ice Stones in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Ice Stones are one of the rarest evolution stones in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as they can only be found on the ground or purchased at auction. Yes, you’ll need to go hunting through the wilds for the telltale signs of sparkles if you want to collect any of these sapphire-esque rocks for yourself.

Ice Stones appear only in late-game areas (which aligns with when you’ll encounter most Ice Pokemon) and only in two specific areas: Dalizapa Passage and Glaseado Mountain. That makes sense, as both of these areas are snowy biomes. Head there and zoom around, and if your luck is good, you should have an Ice Stone in short order.

There is also a chance that you might be able to find an Ice Stone in Porto Marinada, though the chances of finding it there are low. Porto Marinada has three stalls that will sell you wares each day, and while it’s possible to reset them, it’s far more tedious than resetting Mass Outbreaks.

Good luck finding that Ice Stone!
