Overwatch 2 has a small handful of systems to help ensure you have positive, fun matches. The mute button is a good example of that, but beyond outright muting everyone you meet, you also have endorsements. These let you get brownie points to two players on your team you feel like rewarding for exceptional play. On occasion, you might notice this level randomly go down and be confused. No need to worry, though, as there’s a good reason for that. Here’s why your Overwatch 2 endorsement level is going down.
What Causes Your Endorsement Level to Drop in Overwatch 2?
Overwatch 2 endorsement levels work almost identically to their Overwatch 1 counterpart, increasing in level as you receive and give endorsements to other players. These endorsements can’t be given to people on your friends list, so you must send and receive endorsements from random players. With this in mind, the reason your endorsement level is dropping is likely due to not sending or receiving endorsements.
As you increase in level from one to five, keeping your endorsement level from dropping becomes more and more difficult. As such, the best thing you can do is be as friendly and cooperative with your team as possible, along with awarding endorsements to other players once the match completes. If you’re determined to increase it, playing support (well) is one of the easiest ways to get the appreciation of your teammates.

These endorsement levels aren’t for just show, thankfully. Every once in a while, you’ll be rewarded with free battle pass XP, with the amount depending on which level you’re at. This can be insanely useful for working through the pass each season, as that’s less you have to worry about getting before the season’s end. Now get out there and start being a positive member of your team (or something like that)!
