When creating your characters in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, you have a lot of options to choose from to make them yours. You have the hefty appearance settings of course, but there’s also childhood, your life growing up, and even the defining moment for that character. One major choice off the start has left players with some questions, though we’re here to help clarify. Here’s which home world you should choose in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
What Home World is Best in Darktide?
When making your character, you’re given the choice of eight different Home Worlds within the Moebian Domain. These planets are as follows:
- Crucis: A large shrine world.
- Messelina Gloriana: A minor shrine world that is strategically important.
- Rocyria: A hard-working farm world.
- Branx Magna: A thriving industrial world.
- Incron: A world comprised of mostly water.
- Cadia: A now-destroyed fortress world.
- Mornax: A small mining world.
- Pavane: A new, self-sustaining planet.
As for which planet you should choose, this is entirely dependent on your thoughts on game lore. If you care about lore deeply, you should pick a world that best suits what sort of character personality you’re going for. Each world will change up a few lines of dialogue here and there, so it’ll help you build that extra bit of character. If you aren’t one for lore, then Cadia is the only planet with a semi-lasting benefit. Picking Cadia gives you an additional option in your character voice selection, which might help you pick which voice you want to hear.

Picking a home world has about as much effect as any of the other lore options available to you. If you want a character with a specific backstory then you should pick a choice that suits them. Otherwise, there’s not much point in caring. All it will do is change a few bits of dialogue here and there.
