Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Update 1.1.0 Patch Notes

Please don't remove the big eyes feature, it's not a bug!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Patch Notes 1.1.0

It’s been almost two weeks since Pokemon Scarlet and Violet came out and people are still having an absolute blast with it. It’s no surprise considering that the games sold over 10 million copies during its initial three days, and god knows how much money they amassed at this point. That’s even more impressive when we consider the number of performance issues and visual bugs players have been experiencing during their gameplays.

While the new features combined with the stellar narrative and a bunch of new, interesting Pokemon were all huge steps forward to the series as a whole, those issues cannot be denied to affect the game negatively. Some of them are funny as hell, but others can get really annoying. So the biggest hope for Update 1.1.0 is that those issues would be finally resolved. Has that happened? Check it out right now.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 1.1.0 Complete Patch Notes

These are the changes issued by Nintendo on their December 1st, 2022 update for the game:

  • Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
    • Please check the in-game notice for more details about Ranked Battles Season 1.
  • An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
  • Other select bug fixes have been made.

The updates seem to be focused on starting off the competitive scene for Generation IX, which is understandable considering that’s the long-term goal for many players. But things like “Select bug fixes” basically mean “we did things but you never know what those were”, which is somewhat frustrating. But don’t worry ‘cause they’re not pretending like the game doesn’t have issues. The latter part of the Patch Notes reads:

We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.

Nintendo may have a secret chat room with a compilation of every bug clip they can find for their own amusement. And when they’re done laughing, they start doing some work to fix them. This is a questionable method, but it’s still considered “taking feedback seriously” in some way.

Trainers will have to wait a little bit more for the big performance fixes, but it’s reassuring to know they have people looking into it. The game’s far from unplayable in its current state, so many of the issues won’t be a recipe for disaster for your enjoyment. Unless you go to a crowded area when it’s raining. Oh boy, the slideshows.
