Warhammer 40K: Darktide Plague Ogryn

What is an Unyielding Enemy in Warhammer 40K: Darktide? – Answered

An enemy that doesn't yield? Sort of.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide loves referring to its enemies in the strangest ways possible, using words that frankly are tough to understand. Monstrosities may be fairly easy to understand, but referring to heavily armored targets as Carapaced is somewhat strange. One word used to describe enemies can be quite confusing, and understandably so. Here’s what an Unyielding enemy is in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

What Does Unyielding Mean in Darktide?

The term unyielding does give it away to a degree, though we don’t blame you for being a tad confused all things considered. In essence, Unyielding means the same as Uninterruptible in that the enemy is resistant to forms of stagger and can’t have their attacks interrupted normally. This means you’ll need to rely on either distance or dodges to take them down, as raw damage is the only way to put an end to them.

A great example of an Unyielding enemy is the Mutant, the plague-ridden beast that engages its bizarre contraptions and charges at you and your teammates with extreme speed. The only way to stagger this foe involves charging them using the Ogryn’s Bull Rush, but even this only stops them for half a second at most. Otherwise, you’ll have to just keep pumping damage into it to take it down. It’s arguably one of the hardest enemies to fell in Darktide, sitting next to the Scab Sniper and the Beast of Nurgle in causing your team a ton of harm.

If you’re looking to create a build to deal with stagger-resistant enemies like the Mutant, you’ll want a weapon that deals high DPS in a short amount of time. The Veteran and their Boltgun can be a great choice for this, alongside the Psyker’s Brain Burst ability. Keep pumping damage into them, and they should eventually fall. Good riddance, no less.
