Does Warzone 2 Have Proximity Chat? – Answered

A place for very insightful communication between players, or something like that.

Warzone 2.0 features plenty of new things for players to check out. From the brand new Assimilation mechanic, AI-controlled Strongholds scattered throughout the map, and even the fresh, yet familiar, DMZ mode, you sure have plenty to sink your teeth into for new Warzone content. One such feature that players are dying to have is a Proximity Chat function, which lets you communicate with random enemy players mid-battle. Here’s whether Warzone 2.0 has Proximity Chat!

Is There a Proximity Chat Feature in Warzone 2.0?

To keep it simple, yes! Warzone 2.0 does feature a robust Proximity Chat function, letting you say totally nice things to the enemy team as you battle with them through a building or in a tightly-packed neighborhood. To engage in Proximity Chat, simply talk in-game using either a push-to-talk key or through an open mic depending on your settings. If you’re using push-to-talk, you can find the button within your Controls.

On the flip side, you may want to disable Proximity Chat altogether. This can be done quite simply, most easily by going to the Settings menu, scrolling down to Audio, scrolling all the way down to Proximity Chat, then switching the switch to Off. This will both prevent the enemy from hearing you, and you from hearing the enemy nearby.

All in all, Proximity Chat is an interesting feature to have in Warzone 2.0. It will inevitably lead to a lot of toxicity, as Call of Duty players will casually yell at other players about their mothers, but it adds an extra layer of immersion as whatever you say to your team naturally will be heard by other players in close proximity. It could even be used as a deception tactic by some of the more crafty of you.
