Before you can fight Medali City’s Gym Leader in the Paldea region, you must first pass the Gym Test by ordering the secret menu item from the Treasure Eatery. Ordering the Secret Menu Item in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Upon talking to the Gym receptionist, you’ll learn that your task is to order the secret menu item at the Treasure Eatery. There are other trainers taking the same test as you scattered around the city and you’ll have to beat them in battle to gain clues to what this secret menu item is… Or, if you’d rather skip the hassle, you can just read our guide instead like you’re doing now.

To officially start the Gym Test, go inside the Treasure Eatery and speak to the Office Worker sitting at the bar (the man wearing the suit). After the conversation has finished, go back toward the entrance and talk to the waiter to begin ordering.

The correct combination for ordering the secret menu item in the Treasure Eatery is as follows:

  • Grilled rice balls
  • Medium serving
  • Extra crispy, Fire Blast style
  • Lemon

If you accidentally order wrong, you’ll be given a regular dish instead but don’t worry as you can order as many times as you want until you get it right.

Once you’ve ordered correctly, you’ll soon be thrown into a fight with the Medali Gym Leader, Larry. He uses level 35+ Pokemon and Normal-types so make sure you come prepared with Fighting moves and a high enough level to beat him.
