Doki Doki Literature Club Plus | Can You Save Sayori?

So, if you’re here asking whether or not you can save Sayori in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, you’ll have already seen the game take a dark turn. If you haven’t seen this happen yet, again don’t read this guide as it contains major spoilers.

On the surface, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus seems like a harmless visual novel sort of game. Underneath, it’s more of a horror game with disturbing content waiting in the wings to surprise you.

Among the disturbing surprises in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is Sayori’s death, which seems to come out of nowhere and hits you like a ton of bricks. At the end of Act 1, you go to visit Sayori at her home and find that she’s hung herself.

It’s a heartbreaking scene, and given the game’s emphasis on choices including favoring different characters, you may find yourself wondering whether you’ve caused Sayori’s death and whether you could have saved her.

Unfortunately, the answer to the question of whether you can save Sayori in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is no, you cannot. No matter what decisions you make in the game, Sayori’s death will not change.

You can go back and change the way you interact with Sayori at the beginning of the game and make her last moments as happy as possible, but again, you won’t be able to prevent her from taking her own life.

As for the game’s different endings, there is a “good” ending that you can unlock, and there are endings that make Sayori’s death even more heartbreaking. For example, if you delete Monika’s character file too early in the game, Sayori’s death feels like it’s drawn out even more.

However, if you get the “good” ending you’ll get the best possible outcome that – while bittersweet – does help everything come together in a full circle sort of way. We’ll have a guide on how to get the game’s best ending up on the site in the very near future.

Until then, the answer to the question of whether you can save Sayori in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is no, you can’t.
