The Director’s Cut will feature the new Iki region, which becomes available to play after beginning Act 2 of the main campaign. The beautiful island next to Tsushima has its own stories to tell.

There wasn’t much new information about the region, but the PlayStation Blog does tease a little bit of new info.

“We’ll have more to share about the story of Iki soon, but today we can confirm that beyond a whole new story and new characters, this new island also features tons of new content including brand new environments to explore, new armor for Jin as well as his horse, new mini-games, new techniques, new enemy types, and much more. There are even new animals to pet!”

Outside of new story content, the Director’s Cut also features Dualsense features like Haptic Feedback and adaptive triggers. Japanese lip-sync is also being added in a patch.

The Director’s Cut will be available for $69.99 on PS5 and $59.99 on PS4. If you own the game already it’s a $20 upgrade to get the new content. You can transfer your save over from the PS4 version as well.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will release on August 20, 2021.
