One way they’re doing this is by reviewing the preload and unlock times, along with the download size. Wondering what all of these are? Let’s take a closer look!

New Pokemon Snap Preload and Unlock Times, Download Size

New Pokemon Snap is scheduled to release on Friday, April 30 at 12:00 a.m. your local time. If you’re wondering whether you’ll be able to preload the game the answer is yes, you will be. You can preload the game starting April 23 up until release.

To preload the game you’ll need to visit the Nintendo eShop, open the listing for New Pokemon Snap, pre-order the game (if you haven’t done so already), and then check your home page as the game should begin preloading automatically.

The preload installation size sits around 6.8 GB according to the New Pokemon Snap page on the Nintendo eShop, which is pretty manageable. That being said, if you don’t want to take up that much space in your Switch’s storage you can use a micro SD or you can order a physical copy of New Pokemon Snap.

With the physical copy, you likely won’t be able to jump in as quickly as you can with a digital copy which unlocks on April 30 at midnight your local time, but you’ll certainly save on storage space.

And with all of that out of the way, we hope you enjoy New Pokemon Snap once it becomes available on April 30.

Be sure to check back as we’ll have a variety of New Pokemon Snap guides to help you through the game here at Prima Games!
