It’s been a bit of a sore subject around PlayStation fans who already own the PlayStation4  version. However, today the PlayStation blog shed some more light and exactly what players can expect from this remastered version.

“Let’s talk about graphical updates. The team has done the painstaking work of updating the city’s environment to take advantage of the new console. Beyond improved models and materials, one of the biggest things we have brought to the game is ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows. We now have true reflections on the windows of buildings, and it looks stunning with our new skies and weather.”

Insomniac has brought a ton of new graphical improvements to the game and leveraged the power of the PlayStation 5 hardware.

This is just one of the many changes to expect in-game. Peter Parker’s face capture is now a different actor, so returning fans might find it a bit jarring at first. Instead of John Bubniak being the face of Peter, it is now Ben Jordan.

Insomniac states “We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console.”

It’s not a massive change, but it certainly is a noticeable one. You can see a scene from the game with the recast actor below.

The most noticeable difference though, comes from the 60 frames per second performance mode. This makes swinging through the streets look silky smooth. You can watch a trailer of the new mode down below.

Oh, and one more thing. It seems that The Amazing Spider-Man suit will finally be added to the game.
