For this weekend only, Xbox Live is not a thing, which means all players can enjoy the riches that Gold members have.

Amid all of the rumors that Xbox Live was going away – something that Microsoft itself mentioned was not true – the Xbox online experience has been under a pretty heavy microscope. Instead of sweating, Team Green rolled with the punches by awarding a limited-time period where all Xbox Live restrictions are lifted, making Xbox Online completely free for all to use and enjoy. Even better? They are also giving away a few free games to boot!

Xbox One is deep into “Summer Mode,” as the team called it, and so for the next several days Microsoft is lifting all online restrictions. Multiplayer is unlocked on all Xbox One consoles for the next four days, which means we’re likely going to see a massive surge in games like Fortnite that are free-to-play with the Live membership.

The team also mentioned that they are unlocking “a bunch of games” for players to enjoy as well for both PC and console. Here is the full list of games players can enjoy, for free, below:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (console only)
  • Gears 5
  • Black Desert (console only)
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ (console only)
  • Monster Hunter World (console only)
  • Elder Scrolls Online (console only)
  • Borderlands 3 (console only)
  • Subnautica
  • Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker
  • Ark: Survival Evolved

So basically, get that download queue ready to rock and roll because this weekend just got a whole lot better for those that were hoping for some serious game time.

Personally, I can’t recommend Elder Scrolls Online enough. While the base game is very slow to start – the story doesn’t even begin until level 20 – the DLC is truly where the magic shines. The Greymoor and Summerset expansions were by far my favorite and now that vampires are running amok? It’s a good time to dive back into Tamriel with some friends.

So get those Xbox One controllers charged up, it’s time for a weekend of gaming! Enjoy and stay safe out there!
